Some people need to immerse themselves in the world of a true classic every evening: this family fairy tale ballet by the Szeged Contemporary Dance Company gives every member of the family the opportunity to do just that.

The idea for The Nutcracker ballet came from theone-time director of the Tsarist theatre who, based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s fairy tale entitled the Nutcracker and the Mouse King, wanted to stage a fairy tale ballet that would surpass all that had gone before, both in sound and in spectacle. Tchaikovsky was asked to compose the music and after Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty his third and final ballet was also a great success. It was the six-movement suite of the music of The Nutcracker that was first performed in March 1892, and in December of the same year the spectacularly presented theatrical work was also performed. The Nutcracker has become the most frequently played ballet piece of all time.

The evoked era in the performance coincides with the time of the original premiere of Swan Lake. At the same time the second half of the 19th century was also a period known for the spreading of mental hospitals; patients 'possessed' by animal spirits and treatments of mental illnesses by torture and other bizarre methods.

What do people really want? The answer is difficult, since we are constantly searching for a way out of a perfect world, the way back to Eden after our exile. The Eve & Adam performance addresses this universal question through the language of movement and the artistic representation of two young choreographers.

Rhapsody as a genre is characterized by caprice and the passionate undulation of emotion, thoughts, and the freedom of expression. Hungarian Rhapsody incorporates all of the peculiarities of thegenre, relying on tradition, and drawing inspiration from it, to create a special and unique dance rhapsody.

Pursuing happiness, love and affection through countless adventures across this great wide world, but still eventually finding a final peace in the arms of his beloved, Peer Gynt is one of the most complex characters in 19th-century drama.

A LÉTEZÉS egy tangó táncszínházi alkotás, amely az emberi élet útját járja be – a fiatalság sodró lendületétől az öregkor csendes belátásáig. A tangóban születik meg ez az utazás, az ölelés intimitásában, a lélek és a test mély kapcsolódásán keresztül.

Mire vágyik valójában az ember? Nehéz a válasz, hiszen egy tökéletesre teremtett világból a kiutat, a kiűzetés után az Édenbe vezető visszautat keresi folyton folyvást. Éva és Ádám című est ezzel az univerzális kérdéssel foglalkozik, két fiatal koreográfus alkotó mozgásnyelvén és művészi megjelenítésén keresztül.

Timár Sándor Kossuth-díjas koreográfus, táncfolklorista, táncpedagógus, a Nemzet Művésze meghatározó szerepet játszott a 20. század második felének magyar táncművészeti életében.

The Cherry Orchard dance theatre performance evokes the pain and beauty of change on the edge of a bygone world, where past and present are intertwined.

Egyszer... amikor a gonosz páncélfejű grafitbogarak uralkodtak az erdőben, egy éjjel gyönyörű gyógyító erejű virág nőtt a rét közepén, és a varázsvirág visszakergette a szürkebogarakat a föld alá.

Ám egy napon hatalmas vihar támadt, és letörte a varázsvirágot...

The aim of FrenÁk’s Nostalg_Y is not to reminisce about a specific age group or to make the audience cry, but to engage the audience in an intellectual and emotional game of association, where no one knows exactly who will become what, but where imagination can help everyone create a story that fits their expectations. Through randomly colliding, interconnected fragments, we gain insight into what human relations are hidden in the interactions between different generations: for example, between two young individuals who carry their older selves within them and two older characters who carry the consequences of the decisions made by their younger selves.

Esküvői fieszta. Előadás az esküvőig vezető útról, a vágyról, a testiségről. Egy modern násztáncok világa tárul elénk, melyben három szerelmi történet bontakozik ki, a másik kiválasztásától a beteljesüléséig. A szerelem persze mindenkinek mást jelent, másképp éli meg, mást vár tőle, s mást ad magából az érzésbe.

A Csitrakárí (A festőnő) című darabot egy magyar származású indiai festőnő művei ihlették. Az előadás képei azonban nem ecsettel, hanem a tánc eszközeivel készültek. Ezek a képek múlandó emléket állítva tisztelegnek egy hosszú és termékeny művészi út előtt. Brunner Erzsébet festményei a tánc segítségével megelevenednek, és tovább mesélik azt a pillanatot, amit festőjük megragadott. A képek egy életútról beszélnek, szellemi és fizikai utazásról az érdeklődéstől, ismerkedéstől, az élményeken és felismeréseken át elért szintézisig, az út végéig – a feloldódásig.

Narcissus explores the delicate balance between human relationships and between love and self-love.

We get an insight into the ritual-filled life of barbarian settlement trying to seek out a living on the ruins of a civilisation and fighting for survival, fighting with their fears, trying to live through all things fate brings on to them.
