Szabó Magda Abigél című műve megjelenése óta kiapadhatatlanul az érdeklődés középpontjában áll, legyen szó a sokadik kiadását megélő regényről, az abból készült-, évről-évre ismét levetített tv-filmsorozatról, vagy akár a mű musical változatáról.
