Flung from one perspective to the next, we can only agree with Klytämnestra: Was die Wahrheit ist, das bringt kein Mensch heraus: what the truth is, no man will ever unravel,” wrote Géza Fodor of Balázs Kovalik's production.
Richard Strauss wrote an overwhelming one-act masterpiece to Hofmannsthal's libretto, an opera of feminine tragedy. It is a faithful adaptation of the Greek tragedy, pitting reconciliation, revenge and madness stoked by a troubled conscience one against the other.

A történet szerint egy kisfiú, Maugli, Sir Kán, a tigris támadása következtében elszakad a családjától és egy farkasfalka neveli fel. Mentorai és oltalmazói, Balu, a medve és Bagira, a feketepárduc.
A hegyek között, egy eldugott alpesi szállodában eseménydúsan telnek a napok. Bár mindenki pihenni jött, de senki nem talál nyugalmat, pedig a körülmények adottak lennének a tökéletes kikapcsolódáshoz. Házaspárok, barátok, üzletfelek és művészek nyaralnak együtt, már nem először, de talán most utoljára, mert ezen a nyáron néhányuk sorsa menthetetlenül és végzetesen összegabalyodik.
