This is the first time we will hear the two instruments together at Müpa Budapest, courtesy of the husband-and-wife team of Vincent Dubois, titular organist at Notre-Dame de Paris, and the accordion virtuoso Marie-Andrée Joerger. Their programme mirrors their virtuosity and musical imagination. This extraordinarily colourful selection has a strong connection to dance. Between Bach’s organ masterpieces and Piazzolla’s tangos, pieces by Saint-Saëns, Vierne, Ravel, Debussy, Fauré, Poulenc and Caratini build irresistible bridges cast in dazzling new light by the unusual instrumentation.
