How does the message of a fairy tale change when it is not a single hero who bursts into song, but the entire community? This is precisely the special quality of The Enchanted Bride: the familiar twists of the folk tale are brought to life by the members of the Hungarian National Choir – accompanied by the Danubia Orchestra, and with narration by Diána Aida Fehér. The story tells of the three sons of a poor man who set out to try their luck with a bouquet, a handkerchief, and a bride. Yet for the youngest son to triumph, cleverness alone is not enough – he will also need courage. In this delicately staged fairy tale performance, the voice and distinctive atmosphere of the choir become key characters in their own right. There also comes a point when even the audience joins in with the communal singing. It is rare for a folk tale, concert, and shared communal experience to come together so naturally and harmoniously.
