Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno, HWV 46a – “Tu del ciel ministro eletto”

Born in Barcelona, Elionor Martínez earned her master’s degree with distinction at the City of Basel Music Academy and has worked with renowned conductors such as Jordi Savall and Ton Koopman. The young soprano feels equally at home in the world of the oratorio, in operatic roles from Mozart to Rossini, and in the song repertoire. In her Rising Stars programme of historically informed music, she evokes 17th-century Italian and English masters accompanied by the theorba and lute. Alongside works by Monteverdi, Purcell, Strozzi and Francesca Caccini, her programme also includes a new composition by Anna Campmany commissioned by ECHO. One of the most frequently performed contemporary composers on the Catalan music scene, Campmany is also active as a soprano and enjoys working on interdisciplinary projects. The evening will therefore bring the Baroque vocal tradition into dialogue with a contemporary perspective.

Nominated for the Rising Stars programme by: Palau de la Música Catalana, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, L'Auditori Barcelona.
