French violinist Renaud Capuçon has made countless outstanding recordings and performs with the world’s most famous orchestras and soloists. For several years, he has been Artistic Director of Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, and he is also the founder and director of renowned music festivals. In 2024, he was named Artist of the Year by International Classical Music Awards. Renaud Capuçon plays a valuable instrument: a Guarneri violin made in 1737. Renaud Capuçon talked about his violin after a concert saying: “I’ve been playing this violin for twenty years now; the instrument once belonged to Isaac Stern. It is a wonderful instrument, and every time I open its case, I feel I’m in love with it. Sometimes it is a little more reserved, but I trust it, and then a few hours later it opens up again and sounds wonderful. Ours is a special encounter, which enriches every concert with new inspiration.”
