Don Quixote

The play is essentially an absurd dream, the dream of the protagonist Don Quixote. Using the power of his imagination, Don Quixote breaks the boundaries drawn and given by life, which brings him into conflict with the world around him, but not with the one within him. With love being the most important value, he is in conflict with a world that is defined not by human values but by the pursuit of money and material goods. In the story I created, Don Quixote is an artist whose main driving force, besides his ideas, is love, which is the burning ember of his soul and for which he seeks a subject. He projects his love onto the figure of a girl, Dulcinea, a colourful character of many dimensions and faces. Money, material goods, and even life itself are fleeting, but love, love is eternal.” Attila Egerházi
