A band committed to modernising Indian classical music, Araj consists of five young musicians considered in their homeland to be the outstanding performers of their generation. Formed by tabla player Ishaan Ghosh, all members are virtuosos of their instruments (tabla, sitar, bamboo flute, sarangi) and vocal techniques, and their interplay breathes new life into the Indian classical tradition.

Jamaican-born, Ireland-raised Rebecca O'Connor will follow up her sold-out 2024 tour with a world tour in 2025, and we've invited her to perform in Hungary.

The Oscar-winning composer Tan Dun’s landmark opera blends Eastern philosophy with the language of Western music. This is the first time the work will be heard in Hungary, and it will be conducted by the composer himself. Set in the 7th century, it tells the story of the passionate love of a Japanese prince and a Chinese princess, and of their fateful quest for the legendary The Classic of Tea by Lu Yu.

Artistic collaborations between Müpa Budapest and the Munich Radio Orchestra have already delighted audiences with two Verdi rarities: I due Foscari in 2018 and another early Verdi opera, I Lombardi, which was performed in 2023 by an outstanding international cast of singers. On this occasion, chief conductor Ivan Repušić has chosen another gem, Simon Boccanegra.

Season Ticket ‘Sapszon’

Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, Söndörgő is Müpa Budapest’s Ensemble of the Season, which means it will be giving several concerts that break with tradition in the course of the 2025-26 season. Among these will be an evening founded on international collaboration that features three outstanding musicians from the world-renowned progressive jazz-funk-fusion band Snarky Puppy: Michael League, Jay Jennings, and Chris Bullock.

Bea Palya’s series entitled “My Silks” has been running with great success since 2015. At these concerts, where she also performs with her excellent band, Palya always introduces a female vocalist less familiar to the Hungarian audience. The events focus on bridging musical worlds and the meeting of two voices, as the artists perform both their solo material and together in the form of duets.

A Dalszerelőműhely 2021 őszén kezdte működését az ISON-ban. Az első négy évad során Billie Eilish, Janelle Monáe, Eminem, Adele, Shawn Mendes, Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, a Carson Coma, Krúbi, Taylor Swift, Måneskin, SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, Pogány Induló, Beton.Hofi, Ariana Grande, Kendrick Lamar, a Lady Gaga–Bruno Mars duó, Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter és Co Lee egy-egy dalát vizsgáltuk. A cél az, hogy megértsük, mi történik a zene „belsejében”: mit csinál egy-egy dalban a kardántengely, a karburátor és a gyújtógyertya, vagyis olyan kérdésekre keressük a választ, hogy miként kapcsolódik egymáshoz szöveg és zene, mitől lesz izgalmas (vagy éppen kevésbé izgalmas) egy dallam, hogyan áll össze a hangzás és a harmóniavilág. A foglalkozásokon való részvételnek nem feltétele a zenei előképzettség, két nyitott fülön kívül más segédeszközre nem lesz szükség.
