Now 89 years old, and active since the 50s, the Brazilian Hermeto Pascoal is one of the biggest living legends in the Latin jazz world, yet he has never performed in Budapest before. He started out making music with the stars of the local scene in the 60s, and was making records with Miles Davis by 1971.

It has been a long time since we thought of Cécile McLorin Salvant as merely the promising winner of the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. Her expressive voice capable of conveying profound emotions and refined sentiments, her virtuoso improvisation, and her brave, experimental combinations of styles have now come to represent a point of reference to a new generation.

Zalavári Álmos zenekara 2024 decemberében debütált a Hegyvidéki Advent eseményen, de újdonsága ellenére már a fontosabb koncerttermekben bemutathatta műsorát, amelyet a '60-as évek dallamos, egyszerűen értelmezhető, de mégis megunhatatlan jazz-zenéje jellemez.

Stimulated by the desire to explore written music in greater depth and take some weight off improvisation, trumpeter Luís Vicente called on Gonçalo Almeida and Pedro Melo Alves to join him, bringing together three of the most exciting musicians in contemporary Portuguese jazz.

Május 30-án, pénteken 20 órától a József Attila Művelődési Központ színháztermének színpadán két kivételes hangú előadó, Szulák Andrea és Bódy Magdi lép fel, a Gonda Music Band kíséretével. Az est elegáns zenei válogatása méltó lezárása lesz a két hónapos rendezvénysorozatnak.
